Hi, I’m Faye – and I believe that sewing can do more than create something beautiful. It can bring comfort, joy, and hope to others in ways we might never fully realize.
I created SewRewarding.com to share sewing projects that make a difference. Whether you’re stitching items for animal shelters to sell to raise money for pet care needs or making blankets for shelter animals, crafting memory bears for grieving families, or sewing heartfelt gifts for loved ones, this is a space where your creativity meets compassion.
Why I Started This Site
After retiring from a busy career, I finally had time to do more of what I love – sewing with a purpose.
One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been creating Angel Gowns – tiny burial gowns made from donated wedding dresses for babies who pass away in the hospital. That work connected me to families, hospitals, and even strangers who were deeply touched by the idea of turning love and loss into something tangible.
I’ve also sewn projects for the local animal shelter, school choir, and won a county-wide sewing event to compete at the State Fair level. For me, sewing has always been about more than fabric – it’s about creating lasting memories, connections and giving back to the world around me.

A Little More About Me
My mom instilled a passion in me to use the sewing skills she taught me to provide lasting memories for others. She sewed and knitted items for children in war-torn countries. When she was in remission from cancer, she lovingly made blankets for cancer patients undergoing treatment. Mom has since passed away, but her memory lives on as I am blessed to use my sewing to bring comfort, joy, hope and lasting memories to others.
I’ve sewn everything from gowns for the high school choir to county-wide, award-winning garments for the State Fair judging. While I’ve never been a professional tailor or fashion designer, I’ve spent decades learning, creating, and using sewing as a way to serve others.
I also enjoy gardening, crafting, organizing, and riding my ebike on nearby trails – anything that brings a little peace and joy into everyday life.
